40K – Death Guard – Myphitic Blight Hauler

One more demonic engine for the list! Falling behind on showing the updates, but I’ve already moved to start painting twenty Plaguebearers and this one had not been shown in it’s time…

I haven’t kept any work in progress of the rotten thing… But other than the spray-can base, it was very uneventful. While painting it I was constantly annoyed by how static and un-dynamic the thing looks… Imagining conversions to change that… But in the end, used the model as is, telling myself that if I ever get two more, for the usual unit, I would change those and keep the vanilla one as easy variation… If that makes sense.

    1. Thanks! It was a bit (totally) a happy accident. The fourth and lighter of the sprays did that on the surrounding areas where I wasn’t pointing straight at.

Very nice. I love that fleshy tone you have behind the armoured facings.

  3. Thanks! It was a wet-blend of the old GW Elf Flesh, Rose Brown and Beige Red from Vallejo, washed with Purple. Some black oil-paint white spirit wash and called it finished.

Yeah, I really like what you’ve achieved (accident or not) with the mottled texture of the carapace!
