I finished the base layer of the demonic sword with some highlights of Vallejo GUNMETAL GRAY, and OLD GOLD for some of the details, like the skulls and then copper oxide effect with the GWs technicals NIHLAKH OXIDE and grime with TYPHUS CORROSION, and moved to the washes stage.

ORK FLESH WASH for the eye-lids, guts got CARROBURG CRIMSON, but then I made my own “washable wash” mixing Black, Dark Sienna and MAGENTA oil-paint and Turpentine, to apply on the wounds. The whole body was shaded using oil washes of Sienna and Pure black, based on light directon.
Once dried, in the morning, I removed excess wash, building back lights and “most” of the saturation with a clean Turpentine dumped brush and some microfiber cloth rolled on a stick.
Looking suitably disgusting man. Can’t wait to see more 🤘🏼

Thanks! So far, no screw ups! But I have some risky steps ahead planned to keep things interesting and the adrenaline going! Sticking it into a pile of hot-glue was today’s highlight…
