Arco-Flagellants – 40K Adeptus Ministorum – Battle Sisters

I finished this three quite fast in short bursts of hobby this last week. As much as they seem like total barefoot cannon-fodder, this convict units are apparently something to fear on the board.

I went with some crazy contrasting hues, here… blue and green UV fluorescent over the red and skin, and while the minis didn’t really “spoke to me”, I quite enjoy looking at them, all flashy as they are, now finished.

Three is their minimum unit size and that’s what I got… This are the three single-pose ones from the “Special Edition” army box, for which I overpaid now that they have been re-released as an army box of Adepta Sororitas. Oh, well… live and learn.

  1. Yes they are! I had used green for the eyes or the small screens in their backpacks, and blue on the other energy weapons… But small accents are not the same. This ones look flashy! They match with the others, overall, with the lack of gold being intentional.

  2. Gorgeous work, and I love the combination of colors, especially the glowing segments and how they stand out from the rest of the grim-darkness. The red from your order is also really well-integrated here. I don’t know if you’re familiar with SOMA, but these models definitely remind me of some of the monsters from that game. Nicely done!

    1. Thanks! Not familiar with the game you mention, but the term brings to mind “Brave New World’s” mind-control drugs people had to take… So guess the Ministorum approves! Glowy over grimdark, with the reds to tie to Bloody Rose was indeed my intention… Glad it reads!

    1. While painting them I imagined they could be taken places… Adding cables, and extending some of those chains… A trail of kicking dust, and sculpted transparent sparks of lightning coming out of the flails. I imagined there was a me who did that… But it wasn’t this me. 🙂
