1/8 Scale… My first time painting a xenomorph! I have been sitting on half a dozen of 1/32 scale ones, not being sure if I would know how to paint one… Well… This recipe sure worked! Over black and white zenithal, a wash of GW’s Cryptek Armourshade Gloss, then another wash of oil-paint (half black, half Prussian blue) a black drybrush over the carapace areas, some silver accents and the final touch of the blue and purple directional light… With extra green, this time.
For the hunter’s skin I tried to do some pattern, with a mix of sponge and freehand… Came out a bit too subtle. But it is there…
For a three day paint-job, very happy with how it looks! Maybe I’m partial to the theme, but so far, my favorite of this big pieces!
