WIP – 40K – Nurgle Titan Apocrypha. (the Plague Doctor) part_26

After a quick trip home for some unavoidable errands, I got the loose parts I had packed and forgot. All together now. Just missing the two bloatflies, a plume on the rigid incense burner of the arm, and the paint to go on the new parts… Then, removing it from the can, retouch the trim…

Highlights… Lots of edge highlights. And retouches here and there. This is it, at first light… Note to self. Don’t do that. Direct light looks dramatic but kills areas in shadow. Tomorrow I’ll be grabbing the loose bits, and hopefully… After doing some work on the cloth, it might be called finished/abandoned! Any advice/criticism/suggestion, would…

Lots of little details tackled… The tentacles needed more interest, so I free-handed some striations, mixing layers of the two flesh tones I’ve been using, plus GW dwarf flesh. The screens/gems/diodes got a highlight of blood red, a shadow of pure black, and a hotspot of white, same as the Nurglings’ eyes. The beak got…

Fleshy abundance… I got to work a bit more into the soft areas, adding BFTBG, and CARROBURG CRIMSON into the recesses. The wooden post for the banners on the back, was showing some nice and naturalist gradients, so I tried to just filter it somewhat using CHESTNUT. The stubbers under the shoulders were weathered with…

Slow wins the race, they say… well at this pace I’m hardly going to finish this one for the end of the month, as showing this within the timeframe of Azazel’s community challenge “Jewell of July” was timeframe I had given me! I managed to base (all?) of the corrugated tubing things with GW’s Zamesi…

Inexorably advancing! I painted the smaller cables that run through the under-structure with Vallejo Copper, and applied some edge-highlight and highlight stippling to the bronze with Vallejo OLD GOLD. All easily accessible fleshy bits got a thinned first coat of Vallejo’s BEIGE RED, without approaching the edge in most cases… So I can go into…

I then highlighted with Vallejo Pale Blue Grey, and gave all the panels and metal an oil-wash of sepia. I left it overnight for the turpentine to fully evaporate. I used first cotton ear-cleaners, dipped in turpentine to clean the excess… Don’t do that. I had to spend an hour cleaning small fivers out of…

Weekends are on the slow side of the hobbie, lately… Having a family that doesn’t inhabit in the Warp, and all… I managed to keep basing a couple of surfaces, trying to think on how will I approach the next steps in my mind as I’m doing the color-in-the-lines part… I’m at the point where…
